In April 2017, the AICPA introduced a new cybersecurity risk management examination (SOC for Cybersecurity) designed to help all types of organizations meet the growing challenge of communicating to interested parties the design and effectiveness of their cybersecurity risk management programs. This paper describes a SOC for Cybersecurity examination and a SOC 2 examination and addresses the key distinctions between the two examinations.
